Part 1: People often don’t realize that the reason they’re not happy, enjoying life or moving forward is simply because they have unwittingly trained their minds to continue steering them in that same, familiar (and wrong) direction. (Note: the butterflies deciding to take flight instead of being stuck in the jar). Is your mind programmed to worry? That is how I grew up, in lack, self-esteem, and directionless. My father was programmed to be negative and complaining, a result of generations of negativity and defeat. The good news is that just as we can train our minds to focus on the negative, we can also reprogram our fascinating mental machinery to focus on the positive. It all depends on what we consciously “choose” meditate on!

When we meditate on God’s goodness, we are developing a positive and life-changing mindset. When we choose to be grateful and focus on whatever is good in our lives, than on what is amiss, we are choosing a positive attitude. This doesn’t happen automatically but takes discipline to focus on the things that will actually shift your lifestyle, relationships and career. You have to make a conscious effort to spend time in gratitude. If you have a job, food, bed, toothbrush, car, family and/or friends who care, health, eye sight, the ability to walk, and the list goes on and on…you have so much to be thankful for! It can totally change your outlook on life!
