MEET JOEEL & NATALIE
(Instructors and Founders of Transformation Academy)
JOEEL & NATALIE:
Joeel + Natalie are pioneers in the life coaching field and Co-Founders of Transformation Academy, an online education and life coach training company with nearly one million students from 200 countries and territories.
They are pioneers in the life coaching field with 20 years of experience. With their background in psychology, sociology and education, they infuse a deep understanding of psychology and human potential into all of their programs.
Their mission is to empower leading-edge entrepreneurs, leaders and life coaches to master their mindset and create a purpose-driven life and business so they can monetize their passion and live life on their terms.
THE FOUNDERS:
JOEEL’S BEGINNINGS: Joeel is a former psychology professor with a Master’s Degree in Counseling and all but the dissertation for his Ph.D. in Psychology.
From an early age, Joeel faced adversity, including failing his first year of college and losing his brother to a car accident at the age of 19. This experience transformed his life and instilled a deep sense of purpose by inspiring him to give his brother Daniel’s name a meaning by helping others find their true path.
In 2009, he fulfilled his dream of opening a youth center in honor of his brother. Shortly thereafter, life called him a different direction and Natalie answered a Craigslist ad and took over his position of co-founder of this business.
NATALIE’S BEGINNINGS: After a decade of living a life that wasn’t authentically hers, and developing Chronic Fatigue Syndrome as a result, Natalie let go of everything and completely transformed. Through her journey to healing, she rediscovered her true self and greater purpose—to be an entrepreneur and inspire others to transform their lives. Natalie “retired” from the rat race at 24, put herself through school as a freelance designer. Days before graduating college (finally) she answered an ad for a business partner running a non-profit teen center, which is how she met Joeel.
TRANSFORMATION ACADEMY IS BORN:
Transformation began as a magazine, coaching and event company. In 2014, it became an online academy when Joeel experienced a long-term illness. With him bedridden and limited, they were no longer able to do their coaching, workshops, trainings or events. With the newly budding online course industry on the rise, Joeel and Natalie began converting their programs into online courses.
The first life coach certification that TA released – their flagship Life Purpose Coach Certification – became extremely popular. In fact, it still remains a top seller and student favorite to this day, with more than 70,000 students enrolled!
Their success reaching students all over the world was fulfilling and meaningful. But for Joeel, it was deeply personal. Joeel saw the ability to reach people through the internet as a way to continue to make an impact, even within his limitations, and ultimately to leave a legacy even if he did not recover.
When Joeel and Natalie first started receiving feedback from students about the impact it was having, they were hooked. They heard from a group of women in the Philippines who shared the cost of purchasing the Life Purpose Certification, with the intention of working together to help their community. They heard from a young man who lived in Syria during the war who was taking their Happiness Coach program because he wanted to bring more happiness to his country.
They have remained committed to upholding the standard of accessibility that made these courses available to these people providing this powerful feedback.
Joeel continued to recover and the company grew. Their roles shifted from being coaches and trainers to being business owners. They began partnering with instructors to bring new niche certifications and business courses to Transformation’s catalog.
Today Transformation Academy has more than 100 courses, taught by 15 instructors, taken by nearly one million students from 200 countries and territories.
They are also advocates for the democratization of education and capitalizing on current and emerging educational technologies to help expand access to real-world knowledge.

She is passionate about empowering others to achieve their aspirations.

Hannah has been building purpose-driven brands for nearly a decade and is committed to helping businesses be a force for good. Leah is a passionate and creative artist who uses music and digital media to share her passions as a musician, performer and motivational speaker. After recovering from a twenty-year battle with Lyme Disease, she dedicated herself to combining her education in sociology, focused on human relationships, and her first-hand experience overcoming serious relationship challenges, including long-term illness, to inspire others to grow through their challenges, as individuals and in relationships.

Lisa is a freelance editor, writer, and graphic designer. She also currently serves as the executive director of the C. G. Jung Society of Sarasota. Prior to establishing DragonFly Nation LLC, her Sarasota, FL-based freelance business in 2008, Lisa spent 20 years as an editor/editor-in-chief for two of the Top 10 business-to-business publishers in the United States.
Gerald Albert Ramos
Administrative Support Wizard
Albert is a fitness enthusiast who loves positive transformation. Before he started at Transformation Academy, he was an entrepreneur, online marketer and freelancer, and is still a registered nurse. He is also a wizard in the kitchen.
Nancy Selig Amsden
Media Relations Manager
Nancy Selig Amsden is an author, singer, and songwriter whose compositions and writings focus on cultural awareness, social justice and honoring the Earth. Nancy has had a 30-year career in consumer advocacy and regulatory compliance, and has participated in diversity management, cultural awareness and corporate culture initiatives. After leaving corporate life, Nancy has built her own businesses, re-selling designer and vintage clothing and accessories.
Catalyst
Word Ninja and Keeper of the Flame
Katmandu is a dancer, designer, event planner and manager of a performance group called Catalyst Fire. She is on a sacred mission to heal, inspire, illuminate and provoke change, which she does through dancing with fire and light (and inside a giant bubble) at sacred ceremonies, rites of passage, galas, fundraisers, festivals and celebrations.
